Tokyo Skytree — A Complete Guide for Visitors

#tokyo #sightseeing #sumida

At 634 metres, Tokyo Skytree is the world’s tallest broadcasting tower and one of Tokyo’s most iconic sights. Originally opened in 2012, it continues to draw millions of visitors every year — and because our flagship Kimiko Jujo House is just a few stations away, it’s one of the first places we recommend to guests.

Floor-by-floor overview

Skytree isn’t just a viewing tower. The complex is essentially a small vertical city.

  • Floor 1 — Group ticket sales, taxi pickup, souvenir stalls, and a tax-refund counter for international visitors.
  • Floors 2–3Tokyo Soramachi, a full shopping mall with 300+ shops, restaurants, and regular sales events.
  • Floor 4 — The main gate to ascend the tower, plus an outdoor plaza with a miniature Skytree model and photo spots.
  • Floor 5 — A rotating exhibition called Beautiful Nippon, featuring Japanese scenic photography.

The observation decks

The tower has two ticketed observation levels.

Tembo Deck (340 m / 345 m / 350 m)

  • 340 m — The signature experience. Glass-floor panels let you look straight down 340 metres, there’s a souvenir photo service, and the Skytree Cafe serves drinks and light meals with a panoramic view.
  • 345 m — Home to Musashi 634, an upscale restaurant with sky-high fine dining. Popular for anniversaries.
  • 350 m — The Tokyo Navi interactive exhibit contrasts an Edo-era map of Tokyo with the modern skyline.

Tembo Galleria (445 m → 451.2 m)

A spiraling glass corridor that rises from 445 m to the Sorakara Point at 451.2 m — the highest publicly accessible point in the tower. The lighting design makes it feel like you’re walking through the sky itself.
